The COVID-19 pandemic sparked a global lockdown in 2020 to slow the spread of the disease. As of December 2024, the amount of COVID-19 cases has declined significantly due to COVID-19 vaccination and good hygiene practices. The amount of COVID-19 cases reported varies between countries, with several countries having a high concentration of COVID-19 cases.
The map below represents the number of reported cases, allowing unreported cases to be excluded from the total amount. The number of unreported cases varies widely, leaving the accuracy of cases up to the government to report. This can lead to governments reporting fewer cases than the actual count.
Two countries are colored in dark blue, the United States and China, which reflect the most COVID-19 cases. The number in each country is the cumulative amount of cases.
